Information on Fees and Policies

Kid A Performing Arts Co. runs on a not-for-profit basis and relies totally on student fees to meet all expenses. Fees are set at the lowest level possible while ensuring the highest quality tutors, workshops, venues, materials and value added services (transport, catering & supervision) are available. We also provide individual mentorship for children and advice for parents to assist their child’s creative journey.

Kid A offers a value added service of school pick-ups and afternoon tea for children from selected public schools in Leichhardt, Annandale, Forest Lodge, Stanmore and Marrickville. Please contact us for more information as the school route is dependent on bookings. As a general rule, schools must have a minimum number of students enrolled to receive this service.

Although fees are non-refundable, we do allow children to transfer classes if there is a better fit for your child. We also allow casual drop in days for children, but not those in rehearsal unless they are happy being audience members. Any extra classes attended are charged at the usual daily rate and must be paid for in addition to those previously booked by EFT or credit card. Additional classes can be booked on the day of the class before 1pm and you will be sent a separate receipt for each transaction. For full Terms and Conditions please click here.

Information for Parents on School Pick-ups & Drop Offs

Children from Leichhardt PS are collected at the Sesquicentenary Mural Wall on Building 9 (close to the kindergarten amphitheatre) by our LPS supervisor and committee member, Catia McDonnell. Kindergarteners are collected at 3pm directly from their teachers and children in years 1 - 6 make their way to the pick-up zone. If a child is missing, cross checks are made with teachers, parents, LOOSH, the school office and Kid A administration before leaving the school. Every child must be accounted for by our departure time. Children who do not show up will be reported to their parents and the school.

Children coming to Kid A from all other schools (excluding LPS) must go directly to their school office or designated pick up zone when the bell rings and wait until the Kid A supervisor arrives to collect them. We do not have the manpower or time to search school grounds for children missing. Those not present at the pick-up zone will be reported to the office and to their parents immediately before departing.

Parents must text Annie on 0422 977 692 if their child is not attending on any given day.

We strive to collect children as quickly as possible and delivered to our venue in Stanmore/Marrickville for afternoon tea. Waiting in the school office ensures the children are safe while waiting for our bus to arrive.

Children over age 10 can walk to our venues from school and/or walk home at the end of the class, provided we have written and verbal permission from their parents or guardian and have a signed agreement form that their child is not in our care during transit and Kid A is not liable for any misadventure that may take place off site before or after class.

NB: If you are interested in becoming a Kid A supervisor, please call to discuss. Kid A offers free places for children to attend all classes in return for this service and are always looking for responsible volunteers to help at pick up time.
