Kindy Kids & Kid A

Kid A is a lot of fun, but is best suited to children with an aptitude for the arts and are used to a more structured environment (like school or preschool or dance classes for example). If your child is young entering kindergarten (in age or maturity) it might be best to wait until the second half of kindergarten before enrolling.

Kid A caters for all primary school kids across the inner west and runs up to 3 classes across the campus per afternoon. Therefore kindergarten children will mix with a variety of children of different ages during afternoon tea and free play time, which is before and after class.

Kid A does not provide toys, games and books for free play. Our entire focus is on the arts and in class activities. Occasionally we have Netflix playing Disney movies and cartoons during rainy weather etc.

Classes generally run from 4.00pm - 5.30pm and involve a rotation of activities within class to suit young children’s inclination to keep the focus moving.

We do not encourage parents to stay during class or to be a part of the afternoon activities unless they are volunteering. Parents present during class are distracting to the children and can unintentionally undermine a teacher’s authority in the room.

Instead of childcare workers, Kid A has arts practitioners and teachers who hold graduate qualifications and WWCC. They are not there to supervise children running around outside during class time. Therefore we expect every child to participate in the class activities with their teacher.

If your child is not managing and thereby being disruptive Kid A reserves the right after consultation with the parent to cancel the booking at any time.

School Pick Up, Afternoon Tea & Free Play from 3pm to 4.00pm
Children to be picked up by parents or carers by 5.30pm
